There She Blows AKA We Sent The Invites
It's insane that we're at the point where invites are already going out! Thankfully the cardshop in Venice, remember the one where the cheapest they could do for invites was 1k, gave us their handy dandy invite guide! It told us to mail out invitations roughly 2-3 months before the date of the wedding.
Because we're celebrating here in Los Angeles, and the majority of our family and friends are traveling, we went for the longer side of that 3 month mark. Also - we wanted them to hit before thanksgiving or the week after! So here we are, November 18th!
If you remember, these were the save the dates...
Of course, on the real invite - there's a website there as well.
We wanted our invites to reflect the Save The Date card while being different enough to spot the difference quickly. It was also important to once again stay simple on the paper while going into much more depth on the website. While we left the back of the Save The Date blank, with the invite we put basic information including the Location, Accomodations, and RSVP info. We chose to forego return cards, direction cards, paper bands, etc. etc. It was one card, with the info, all in one.
For RSVP's we ended up going with the company RSVPify. It's OK. They price out the vent by total invitees. However, they allow you to very selectively control the RSVP process. ie. Cousin John can't add 8 people to their 2 person RSVP. No confusion, and super easy to use. We did include our phone number for those who weren't comfortable using a computer or who ran into issues (of course, when they call, we'll just rsvp via rsvpify).
All in all they look great and while the camera gave the black a little glare, in person they are perfectly black matte.
Another difference is that our STD cards were 4x6 while the invites are 5x7
