Rehearsing Cuz We Want Too
We're planning our rehearsal dinner! Also, we’re still trying so hard to not get caught up in wedding traditions that A. Cost thousands of dollars and B. We don’t understand. That said, We love the sentiment behind a rehearsal dinner and it's a must have for our wedding!
Planning on a budget is haaaaard work!
I think what we’ve realized the most about planning this wedding is everyone has an idea of how the night should go. That extends all the way from save the dates to champagne toasts. But being on a budget, you really have to define what is important to you, the couple, and make those calls about what gets funding priority.
Thankfully, Cristian’s Mom found a website called Peerspace. Which, is really similar to the company Splacer that we used to book our wedding venue. Think Airbnb for event spaces.
Why are we using Peerspace and DIY’ing such an event? Well, check out this quote we received from Eveleigh:
Literally half the budget of our wedding – No thank you. That example was extreme, but honestly not far off from what we’ve been seeing again and again. Compare this to our budget of ~4k for 50 people and you get a better picture of where we're at.
In the end, through a little bit of searching and visiting different spots, here is the location we found for $250 an hour:
Also, here is a little view into our working budget for the event. A big saver was deciding to collect our wine bottles to clean and refill with water. It’s not finalized, but if you’re doing something similar, hopefully it can give a little insight into how you can work things around. (below isn't exactly the BEST at fully describing the items, the beauty of decoding your own cryptic notating....)
