Flip Or Flop - Our New Abode
Oh Hi, Hello! We're in the thick of moving into our new apartment! We Found this listing after a few days of seemingly unending searching.
Ok, So here's where we're at.
Corey's Mom is coming to town to help us move in (but of course) so we have a hard deadline to get this place livable before her arrival. We did some massive spending at West Elm with some filler trips to Ikea. Idk if it's because we haven't shopped at Ikea since we were young college students, but they actually have things that are above the cardboard wood level and made out of things like... real wood. Say Wat?! It's true. We've ordered some white metal shelves, a white round dining table, and don't judge, the malm bedframe. We had to save some money somewhere, and the since we're upgrading to King Size everything (SPACEEE) that's what took the cut.
For the paint, we went for the knock-off of the Benjamin Moore White Dove (pro tip: if you ask Home Depot, they will steal the color codes for you) Apparently every pinterest blogger is obsessed with this soft, white / cream/ grey color.... so we took their word for it and got it.
Also, why why why was this apartment pre-painted honey yellow! See what we're dealing with??
Our OCD is testing us with the current state of everything in our apartment. We just keep chanting.. It will all be better soon!
One of the first 2 things we did was renovate our little patio space. Unfortunately it came as just a poured concrete slab covered in dust and debris. It ended up being pretty pricey, but the RUNNEN wood tiles from Ikea saved the day. We spent about $120 on the entire project and it's changed our lives.. (or, will change them... we've only been here like, a day)
